Ridwar Khalil: Turkey has used unconventional weapons in Afrin and investigations are underway to prove it
The head of Syria’s public relations office in Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Ridwar Khalil, said that they believed that Turkey had launched attacks on axes in Afrin using internationally prohibited weapons, stressing that specialists were seeking to document these incidents and present them to public opinion.
During a press conference held in front of dozens of local and international journalists, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) revealed the outcome of a week of fighting in Afrin, which has witnessed Turkish aggression since the 20th of last month.
Ridwar Khalil, official of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF)Public Relations Office, told to (ANHA) after the conference that they believed Turkey had resorted to the use of internationally banned weapons including Napalm and cluster bombs in its attack on Afrin.
Khalil pointed out that “Turkey used in the attack on Afrin many types of weapons, including artillery, aviation and missiles, and believe that they resorted to the use of non-conventional weapons, such as napalm or cluster bombs.”
Khalil pointed out that “attempts are now underway by specialists to archive these attacks and document them and then their participation with the media and public opinion.”
Ridwar Khalil revealed that Turkey had attacked the Qustal Jandu hill (Bersaya) with napalm bombs and Kafri Kar hill.
He attributed the reason why Turkey used these weapons to try to scare civilians and progress on the military fronts, but he stressed that their fighters appear fierce resistance against attacks and battles continue, adding
“We have no choice but to resist and defend our land and our people,” he said. “We have no choice but to resist and defend our land and our people.”
In the results revealed, the media center of the forces (SDF)confirmed that 30 civilians were killed and dozens wounded as a result of the Turkish aggression on the region of Afrin, referring to the case of the abduction of 6 civilians from the border villages by the Turkish occupation army.
On the news of the occupation of Turkey to several places on the outskirts of Afrin, Ridwar Khalil said, “The battles taking place in Afrin are the battles of Karr, so the Turkish army’s advance on a hill or village is not considered a victory because they can not keep up that”.
It should be noted that the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) said in the outcome of a week of fighting between 26 January and the first of February that 473 elements of the Turkish army and its allied terrorists, confirming the destruction of 25 armored vehicles and 11 others.
