Violent explosions erupted in the town of Quneitra, south of the Syrian capital Damascus, as a result of Israeli tank shelling in the countryside of the area.

Syria’s official SANA news agency reported Wednesday that an Israeli shelling targeted the village of Al-Hurriya in the northern countryside of Quneitra in the west.

“With a number of tank shells, Israel targeted the harrage of the village of Al-Hurriya amid explosions in the area,” the agency said.

She noted that the Israeli shelling came in parallel with the intensive flight of his helicopter and reconnaissance over the area.

Israel occasionally targets Iranian forces on Syrian territory and its loyalists from armed militias, stressing that its targets continue until Iran is removed from Syrian territory
