Three people were killed and four others injured in a military helicopter crash thursday in Afghanistan’s Helmand province, media reports said.
The cause of the helicopter crash is still unknown, the chairman of the regional council said in a press release.
Later, the Taliban representative,” Qari Mohammad Yusuf Ahmadi”, said in a statement that the helicopter was shot down by the group in The Fashir area of Helmand province, adding that there were five dead, including the Afghan army commander, three soldiers and a pilot, and wounded.
Violence continues between Taliban militants and government forces, despite peace negotiations by the Afghan Government and representatives of the movement.
