Again .. Russia and Turkey conduct joint patrol East of “Kobane”

Selava Omar –

Russian military police conducted a joint patrol with the Turkish army in the eastern countryside of Kobane.

The patrol, with the participation of six Russian and four Turkish Armoured vehicles, started from the border village of “Ghraibb”, East of Kobane.

The patrol is scheduled to tour border villages east of Kobane.

The patrols are in line with the Sochi understandings reached by Russian President “Vladimir Putin” and Turkish President” Recep Tayyip Erdogan” on October 22, 2019.

The understanding provided for joint patrols on the border at a depth of no more than 10 kilometres inside Syrian territory, in addition to a ceasefire in the area and the stationing of Syrian government forces on the Syrian border with the west and the 30 kilometres away from the border.

But Turkey continues to violate the agreement by bombing and attacking areas of northern and eastern Syria, particularly in Ain Issa, Tal Tamer and Manbij, despite the presence of Russian forces close to the bombing sites as guarantors.
