Moscow and Ankara intensify contacts.. Syrian file at head of talks

Russia and Turkey have stepped up contacts over the Syrian issue, the latest of which was a telephone conversation between the foreign ministers of Turkey and Russia, and their talks topped the Idlib file.

In this regard, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Turkish counterpart, Mouloudoglu, discussed in a telephone conversation the settlement of the Syrian crisis by focusing on the task of eliminating terrorism in Syria’s Idlib province.

“The two ministers discussed in detail the continuation of telephone conversations between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Erdogan, “the situation in Syria by focusing on increasing joint efforts in Idlib province to eliminate once and for all the terrorist threat,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The talks included frameworks for the Syrian settlement and the solution, in addition to the Astana track, which concluded the round 15 talks in Sochi, the statement added.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Erdogan had a telephone conversation on various issues, including Libya, Syria and Qara Bagh.
