U.S. Senate votes to name Janet Yellen as Treasury Secretary

Khoshbin sheikho –

Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer has confirmed that the House will vote on the appointment of Janet Yellen as the new Secretary of the U.S. Treasury next Monday.

And on Friday, the Council’s Finance Committee unanimously approved her appointment to the post.

“I have strong disagreements with Dr. Yellen on a number of her positions, particularly on tax policy, but she pledged that she will work with us,” said Republican Senator Mike Crapo, adding that the results of the committee vote show lawmakers are seeking cooperation.

And one of yellen’s most important issues if appointed will be the economic recovery from the Corona crisis, with President Joe Biden proposing a $1.9 trillion stimulus plan and pledging to invest another $2 trillion in infrastructure, green energy projects, education and research to increase U.S. competitiveness.

“Janet Yellen” was previously president of the Us Federal Reserve between 2014 and 2018.
