News of Biden’s appointment of Friend of the Kurds “Brett McGurk” on a new assignment in his government

Selava Omar –

U.S. President-elect Joe Biden is heading to appoint former envoy to Syria, Brett McGurk, as the head of” MENAa’s Office” for the Middle East and North Africa at the National Security Council, the white house’s highest-ranking official.

And “McGurk” served as the U.S. envoy to the international coalition against ISIS before he resigned in December 2018.

“McGurk” resigned in protest at Us President Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw from Syria, calling the decision a betrayal of the Kurds.

And “McGurk” has strong ties to the SDF and has been a strong opponent of the Turkish invasion of areas in northeastern Syria.
