Russia and Turkey are conducting a new joint patrol east of “Kobane” in northern Syria

Selava Omar –

The Russian Military Police began conducting a joint patrol with the Turkish forces east of the city of “Kobani” on the Syrian-Turkish border in northern Syria.

The patrol was launched with the participation of 8 military armored vehicles (4 Russian and 4 Turkish), as well as 2 military helicopters.

The patrol started from the village of “Gharib”, east of the city of Kobani on the Syrian-Turkish border, where Turkish armored vehicles entered from a border crossing opposite the village, accompanied by Russian armored vehicles in the patrol that is scheduled to patrol eastern villages of the city of Kobani on the Syrian-Turkish border.

The conduct of joint patrols between the two sides in northern Syria on the Syrian-Turkish border comes within the framework of the “Sochi” understandings that Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan reached on October 22nd.

These patrols coincide with the daily bombardment by the Turkish occupation army of Ain Issa and its countryside, and the countryside of “Tal Tamr and Zarkan” sub-regions, which are a violation of those understandings concluded between Russia and Turkey.
