5 ISIS members were arrested in a new SDF operation in Deir Ezzor countryside

The Syrian Democratic Forces have arrested a cell affiliated with ISIS in the eastern countryside of the Syrian city of Deir Ezzor, and information indicates that the cell is responsible for some assassinations and stabbings in the area.

And local media sources from the town of “Al-Basira” in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor reported that, in the early hours of this morning, the SDF raided a group of houses on the southern and western sides of the town, and arrested 5 of the organization’s members.

A military source in the “Qasd” stated that the cell belonged to “ISIS”, and it carried out some assassinations and targeted people in the area, especially the operations that were carried out on motorcycles.

The eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor has recently witnessed an escalation in the movement of “ISIS” cells, in addition to cells belonging to the regime’s security institutions, and others to Turkey.

And since the Syrian Democratic Forces announced in March last year, the elimination of the last stronghold of the terrorist organization, ISIS, the area has witnessed intense security operations in pursuit of the remaining mercenary cells in the towns on the northern bank of the Euphrates, the latter resulting in the arrest One of the most prominent local leaders in the “ISIS” terrorists, known as “Abu Jihad Al-Ansari”.
