The European Union holds its meeting today regarding the Mediterranean crisis and other issues

The special European summit will be held in Brussels this afternoon to discuss a number of files, most notably the tension in the eastern Mediterranean between Turkey and Greece.

The President of the Council of the European Union, Sharel Michel, said that the first working session will focus on the relationship with China, then the situation in Belarus and the file of poisoning Russian opposition Alexei Navalny.

The dinner will be devoted entirely to tensions in the eastern Mediterranean and relations with Turkey.

And in this regard, Michel said, “Our goal is to create a space for constructive dialogue with Turkey to achieve stability and security in the region,” adding that all options are on the table to defend the legitimate interests of the European Union and its member states.

On the second day, the Union will discuss the Corona pandemic crisis and the economic repercussions, and in this regard the discussion will be held on unlocking the full potential of the single market, developing an ambitious industrial policy and digital developments, and then concluding the discussions with the Brexit file and the latest developments in negotiations with London.
