Egypt and Greece: The maritime border agreement is a historical development for bilateral relations

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis affirmed that the agreement to demarcate the maritime borders between Egypt and Greece contributes to achieving security and stability in the eastern Mediterranean region, and is also a historic development of bilateral relations.

This came during telephone talks between the two parties, as the two parties confirmed that the maritime border agreement between the two countries is a historical development of bilateral relations, and represents a model for consolidating the correct foundations and rules for the appointment process, as well as providing an opportunity for Egypt and Greece to exploit their natural resources.

The Egyptian presidential spokesman said that the telephone talks dealt with an exchange of views and views on some regional files of common interest, foremost of which are developments in the eastern Mediterranean region.

He added that there was consensus on the need to intensify coordination in this regard, taking into account the consistency of interests and common positions between the two countries.
