Greece called today, Tuesday, to hold an “urgent” meeting of the European Union, regarding Turkey’s provocations in the eastern Mediterranean.

And the Greek Prime Minister’s office, “Kyriakos Mitsotakis”, said that his country wants to hold an urgent meeting of the European Union on Turkey.

Accordingly, the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs will submit a request to the Union’s Foreign Affairs Council to hold an emergency summit, according to the office of “Mitsotakis”.

This comes at a time when the Greek army has raised the state of alert in its forces to the highest level, in anticipation of military exercises that Turkey is planning to hold between the islands of Rhodes and Kastellorizo ​​in the eastern Mediterranean, according to media sources.

It is noteworthy that, following the signing of a maritime agreement between Athens and Cairo, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that his country would resume drilling operations in the eastern Mediterranean.
