Pentagon: The withdrawal of our forces from Germany is consistent with the strategy to contain Russia

The US Secretary of Defense, “Mark Esper”, stated that the withdrawal of US forces from Germany is a step that falls under the strategy aimed at containing Russia.

“Esper” added in a statement to “Fox News”, “Moving more forces to the east is coming to be closer to the Russian borders, to contain them.”

He said that he had spoken to most of the Allied countries about this step, and they considered it a good step.

The Pentagon had said earlier that it intended to withdraw about 12,000 American soldiers from Germany, adding that most of these forces would return to the United States, and the rest would be transferred to NATO countries in Europe, including Italy and Belgium.
