The emergency meeting began at the level of foreign ministers at the League of Arab States, today, Tuesday, to discuss the Libyan crisis in light of the continued Turkish intervention and the escalation of the illegal government of reconciliation.

The Arab League meeting held via the Internet came in response to the request of Egypt, which warned of the aggravation of the situation in the neighboring country and the threat to that of its national security, especially as it shares borders with it that Cairo fears that terrorists will cross and be a source of arms smuggling, and a special session will be held on the topic of dam Ethiopian Renaissance.

Foreign Minister, Sameh Shoukry, stated in media statements yesterday that the emergency meeting in the League of Arab States today will deal with the files of “The Renaissance Dam and Libya.”

And the League of Arab States announced, in a statement last Sunday, that it was decided to hold the emergency meeting via the Internet at the level of foreign ministers, to discuss the latest developments in the situation in Libya.

The statement said that the meeting will be held “chaired by the minister responsible for foreign affairs in the Sultanate of Oman at the request of the Arab Republic of Egypt to discuss developments in the situation in Libya through video conferencing technology.”

Cairo has waved “direct military intervention” in Libya if the militias of the unconstitutional government led by Fayez al-Sarraj and the mercenaries of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan continue to advance towards Sirte, the strategic city on the Mediterranean.

It is reported that two weeks ago, Cairo sponsored a Libyan initiative to resolve the conflict peacefully, which included stopping the firing of fire, in addition to removing mercenaries, withdrawing militia weapons and stopping foreign interference, but the Turkish president and the militias loyal to him rejected the initiative and continued to fight the army, while most countries of the world supported it.

Turkey interferes in the Libyan issue directly in favor of the Al-Wefaq government and sends it to it Syrian mercenaries and supports it with weapons, equipment and drones, and threatens to occupy the border areas with Egypt, which the latter announced is a red line
