The Syrian Observatory reveals an ISIS battalion working for Turkish intelligence

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that it was able to obtain, through reliable sources, information and details about a battalion of dozens of ISIS operatives working for the Turkish intelligence services, as it undertakes assassinations, bombings and booby-traps.

According to the Syrian Observatory, the ISIS cell includes elements of Iraqi nationality, who are affiliated with a terrorist faction called “Ahrar al-Sharqiyya Group” and located in the Syrian north.

The cell includes 40 armed men who work for the intelligence of the Turkish state, and their main task besides carrying out the assassinations is to identify foreign ISIS who are trying to flee towards the Turkish lands, and who are hidden within the Aleppo countryside.

The battalion is based in the city of Al-Bab in the northeastern countryside of Aleppo, and it also has a notorious prison in the region there, led by a person called (Abu Waqas al-Iraqi).

A photo was taken of “Abu Waqas” in the state of Urfa in Turkey, proving his meeting with an ISIS leader called (Abu Osama Al Tayyana).

According to the sources of the Syrian Observatory, Abu Al-Waqqas has been in hiding for almost two months, and he does not yet know whether he went to Libya to participate in the fighting alongside the “National Accord Government”, or if he went to Egypt with huge sums of money, similar to what the previous leader did. Ahrar al-Sham (Abu Hudhaifa al-Hamwi), who fled to Egypt after he stole a large sum of money from the Ahrar al-Sharqiyya community at the beginning of its formation, and the group joined the Ahrar al-Sham movement at that time.

The sources added that the Iraqi battalion recently transferred prisoners from its battalion prison in al-Bab to the city of Idlib, where they were received by a leader of the Headquarters for the Liberation of Al-Sham called (Abu Ali al-Iraqi), and among the prisoners who were transferred: (Bilal Al-Shawashy Al-Tunisi and Abu Al-Walid Al-Tounsi Abu Usama al-Araqi) and prisoners of Egyptian nationality, and all those who were transferred are leaders of the “Islamic State”, and the battalion also recently established another headquarters in the city of Al-Bab.

While the Iraqi battalion deliberately buried its victims in a mass grave, as about 300 civilians, military and members of the organization were killed by the battalion, and they were buried in the mass grave located on the outskirts of the village of Sosnbat on the Bab-Ra`i road in the northeastern countryside of Aleppo, according to the observatory, It is mentioned that on January 16th of this year, Thabet Al-Huwaish, the security of the Ahrar Eastern bloc, was killed by detonating a booby-trapped vehicle in the town of Behavior, north of Raqqa. The victim was responsible for transferring money to Abu Waqas Al-Iraqi from Al-Bab city to Turkey while he was there.
