An earthquake measuring 4 degrees hit southern Turkey

An earthquake measuring 4 on the Richter scale hit southern Turkey at dawn today, Wednesday.

A statement published by the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), on its website, stated that the earthquake occurred in the district of Kadirli of the Ottoman state (south) at 02.22 local time (23.22 GMT).

The statement said that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 29 km below the surface of the earth.

There was no statement from the authorities about any material or human losses as a result.

It should be noted that the number of earthquakes that struck various Turkish states increased recently, which raised concern of Istanbul residents who fear a devastating earthquake may hit the city in light of warnings from specialized centers.

According to expert expectations, Turkish Istanbul is awaiting a devastating earthquake measuring 7.4 on the Richter scale.
