Tens of thousands of people in India are returning to their homelands after losing their jobs due to the general isolation imposed to contain the outbreak of the Coronavirus since late March.
The Ministry of Railways reported that the freight train driver tried to stop him when he saw workers on tracks in the western state of Maharashtra. She stated that she had ordered an investigation.
During the public isolation imposed on the country, all public transportation was suspended, thus migrant workers returning to their homes often had to walk long distances. The Indian government has extended the country’s general isolation until May 17.
