The US administration puts the Kurds among its priorities and its president threatens Turkey with economic destruction
US President Donald Trump wrote on Twitter on Sunday several tweets announcing the start of his country’s troop withdrawal from Syria.
“We started with the promised withdrawal from Syria, while we are still striking the remnants of the Caliphate power,” wrote Trump. We will attack again from a nearby base if necessary. We will destroy Turkey’s economy if it attacks Syrian Kurds. We will create a safe zone 20 miles deep, and according to some observers, the safe zone also includes the air embargo so that the United States of America closes the door to all attempts to hit this area.
Trump wrote in a tweet on Twitter: “We do not want the Kurds to provoke Turkey. Russia, Iran and Syria have been the biggest beneficiaries of long-term American policy to destroy Da’ash in Syria. the natural enemies, and we are also benefiting, but now is the time to bring our troops home and end the endless wars.”
He continued: “The long-awaited withdrawal from Syria began While he was hitting the few remaining strongholds for Da’ash, and from many directions. ”
Trump wrote “We will destroy Turkey economically if they hit the Kurds.”
This Trump phrase is considered a direct threat to Turkey if it attacks the Kurds in Syria, punishing and destroying them economically, in a clear reference to the stand behind his country’s pledges to protect the Kurds in case they were exposed to any threat from any side.
Last week, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan publicly criticized US national security adviser John Bolton, for his Saying that the US withdrawal depends on Turkey’s pledge not to attack US-backed Kurdish fighters in Syria once the troops leave.
“Bolton made a big mistake,” Erdogan said. If he thinks so, he will be in great error. We will not tolerate. ”
Turkey is threatening to launch a military campaign on the areas and cities of eastern Euphrates in Syria, areas managed and protected by the Syrian democratic forces and units of protection of the people it is A Kurdish Arab Christian force allied to the United States of America and to the coalition of the international coalition against Da’ash
In the same context, the spokesman of the Turkish Presidency Ibrahim Kalin responded to Trump’s phrase
” Donald Trump can not be ‘terrorists’ your partners and allies. Turkey expects the United States to respect our strategic partnership It does not want to be blocked by terrorist propaganda. ”
He threatened to say again “There is no difference between DAESH, PKK, PYD and YPG. We will continue to fight against them all. “
