The delegation of the PYD representative visits the Greek parliament and holds meetings with officials to discuss Afrin and the latest Turkish threats
The delegation of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) met with the Greek responsibls to discuss the Syrian crisis and the problems related to the region.
The delegation of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) in Greece, Dr. Ibrahim Muslim and Hamid Urmia, visited the Greek parliament and met with the Speaker of the Potami Party’s Parliamentary Group, Mr. Spiro Zaneli, who is a member of the Greek Parliament’s Defense and Foreign Relations Committee.
During the meeting, the latest threats of the Turkish state to Roj ava and the situation in Afrin were described following the Turkish occupation and the shameful position of the international community. In the same context, the delegation visited the head of the Greek Popular Union Party, Mr. Benayotti Lafazani, at the party headquarters in the Greek capital Athens.The party was briefed on the latest situation in Syria and Rojava. The Greeks expressed their support for the legitimate rights of the Kurdish people. They saw federalism as a solution to the Syrian problem. They also strongly condemned the Turkish occupation of the city of Afrin and the rest of northern Syria.
They also stressed that the Turkish occupation is a violation of international law and the UN Charter. Mr. Lavazen apologized on behalf of the Greek people to the Kurdish people because the Greek government handed over the Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan to the Turkish state and demanded the formation of an international committee to fight for the freedom of the commander.
