Erdogan: We have completed the preparations and practical plans to destroy the “terrorist organizations” east of the Euphrates River and the attack will be soon
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has threatened the United States indirectly by announcing the approach of a large-scale military offensive targeting areas under US protection in northeastern Syria.
“We have completed preparations and practical plans to destroy the terrorist organizations east of the Euphrates River,” Erdogan said Tuesday in a speech to the Justice and Development Party (AKP).
US envoy to Syria Jamis Jeffrey said yesterday that the United States is concerned about Turkey’s attacks on US allies in Kubani, and that Washington and Ankara should cooperate to prevent such attacks from recurring in the future.
Erdogan said that Turkey has started an intervention against armed groups in reference to the units of protection of the people in the east Euphrates in Syria during the past days and that they will carry out broader operations and more effective in the near future, as he put it.
Erdogan claimed that Ankara would destroy the structures of armed groups east of the Euphrates.
