Jeffrey demands MSD, DAA participation in Geneva, Syrian Constitution’s formulation
A source familiar with the meetings held by the delegation of the International Coalition headed by James Jeffrey stated that the International Coalition insists on participating the Autonomous Administration and Syria Democratic Council in the discussion of the Syrian constitution and Geneva meeting.
A senior US delegation led by the US envoy to Syria James Jeffrey visited the regions of North and East Syria to discuss the situation and stability of the area, the ways of the participation of the Autonomous Administration in North and East Syria and the Syria Democratic Council in discussing the Syrian constitution and attending Geneva meeting.
A source familiar with the meetings held in Manbij, Ain Issa and al-Raqqa told ANHA agency that the delegation submitted letters to the Autonomous Administration in the north and east of Syria, the local councils and the Syria Democratic Council to continue the moral and logistical support.
The source said that the US envoy confirmed during the meetings that the International Coalition will continue to support his partners politically and militarily in an indication to MSD and Autonomous Administration in the north and east of Syria. The source added that Jeffrey stressed that they are working on the participation of Autonomous Administration and MSD in Geneva talks and drafting the new constitution for Syria.
The source made clear that the delegation confirmed during the meetings that the International Coalition will continue to protect the region from any attacks launched by any external or internal parties.
The source added that the delegation confirmed that they consider the institutions existed in the north and east of Syria seriously, and continued saying that as they were partners with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) at the military level to fight IS, they are taking political steps now.
The source also said, “James Jeffrey’s message was clear; the work on the participation of North Syria Administration in the constitution of Syria, the departure of other forces from Syria and the movement towards a political solution. They said that they will remain until the Syrian crisis will be solved that they will not allow anyone to intervene in these areas, especially those that were liberated by SDF with the International Coalition.
