International Coalition: Our forces targeted mosque IS turned into HQ
The International Alliance for Combating Terrorism in Syria has killed a number of IS mercenaries in the raids on the mosque in the suburb of-ez-Zor city. The coalition explained that IS mercenaries used the mosque to manage their operations against the coalition forces and their allies and information was obtained that there were no civilians before the targeting.
the International Coalition Against Terrorism in Syria and Iraq announced the destruction of a mosque used by IS mercenaries as a headquarter and the killing of a number of IS as a result of the air raid on the town of the east of Deir-ez-Zor city in east Syria.
Coalition spokesman Col. Sean Ryan said the raid, which took place last Thursday, resulted in killing 12 militants from IS and destroyed a headquarters inside a mosque they were using it to “manage” their operations against coalition forces and allies.
The spokesman added that “mosque” was used by IS in this way is considered as violates the laws of war, and makes the mosque a legitimate military target.
Regarding the reports of civilian deaths as a result of the raid, the spokesman said the coalition was monitoring the mosque to identify the moment when there were no civilians in the mosque and that the coalition was investigating “all credible reports of civilian casualties.”
