The Health Authority Of The Department Of Self-Goverment Opens A Medical Acadimy In Qamishli
The Health Authority of the department of self-management opened the first medical academy in the city of Qamishli ,In order to teach and graduate in the region.
The Academy has several specialties (pharmacy, medicine, surgery and nursing) and students are accepted from the north and east of Syria.
“So far, more than 70 students have been received at the academy, from Afrin, the Euphrates, the Jezira, Manbaj, Raqqa and Tabaqa provinces,” a source at the academy said.
“The duration of teaching in the academy is 4 years, and each year includes 8 months. After graduation, students are tested for 3 years in the field of general medicine, and their specialization is determined according to the experience and ability of the students in all the specialties.
For its part, the Health Authority allocated a special housing for students within the Academy, distributed according to the Kominat, where there are now in the academy 6 Kominat 3 for young and 3 young women, and each komin of about 10 students.
”The goal of establishing a medical academy is to advance the reality of the region,” said Simef Ibrahim, a doctor at the medical academy.
“We have diplomatic relations with an Italian state in order to send academic medical missions to the academy to teach students, and there will be other missions in the coming years in order to gain additional experience for students and to raise their standards.
