Jordanian economic delegation heads to Syria today
A Jordanian economic delegation consisting of commercial, industrial and service figures is on an official visit to Syria today, at the invitation of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce in preparation for the events of the Damascus International Fair.
The visit will include several meetings with government officials and representatives of the Syrian private sector, including a joint Syrian-Jordanian business meeting organized by the Jordan Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce, said Ghassan Kharfan, First Deputy Chairman of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce.
He pointed out that the meeting will be held next Wednesday, will discuss the strengthening of economic cooperation and trade exchange between the two countries and remove the obstacles that stand in the way.
He added that the delegation will also discuss the formation of specialized committees to promote trade cooperation between the two countries and organize bilateral meetings between Syrian and Jordanian businessmen with a view to establishing trade and investment partnerships that serve the interests of the Syrian and Jordanian economies.
The Damascus International Fair is due to open on Thursday with the participation of 48 countries and 1,700 Syrian, Arab and international companies.
