Israel sends messages to Russia to cool tensions ,seeks to expand Iran’s targeting
Political sources said that in recent days Moscow has received messages from Tel Aviv aimed at cooling tension in relations with Russia after the Israeli raids against T4-base in Syria.
Al-Arab newspaper quoted informed political sources as confirming ,”Moscow has received in recent days messages from Tel Aviv in an effort to cool tension in Russian relations, after Moscow condemned the raids by Israel against T4-base in Syria in .”
According to the newspaper “added sources that Moscow and Tel Aviv are looking for a new point of balance to update the previous understandings on the scope of Israeli military operations in the Syrian territory.”
Israeli analysts said Moscow’s condemnation of the Israeli attack, which killed seven Iranians, had sparked speculation in Israel that Russia’s patience might be running out as Western powers attacked Syria for alleged use of chemical weapons in the attack on eastern city Douma last month.
Israeli sources quoted circles close to Israel’s Defense Ministry as saying that Tel Aviv was concerned about a possible review by Moscow of its previous military understandings with Israel, which were put together during the numerous meetings that brought together Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
